Oops - Mark - I went to the WISEREarth site you wrote about and found it fascinating and excellent. I thought that I emailed back to you about it but even if I did I should have posted here as well. My apology.

"The collective drive for a sustainable and just existence is definitely exciting and to me fits the whole reason for decluttering quite honestly -- so that a) we have time and space to focus on what matters and b) things that are not useful or excess in one
life can be re-homed to another place where they can be truly used and appreciated.

Again my apology for not blogging back RIGHT AWAY as I very much appreciate that you went to AVAAZ and signed the petition AND blogged to me about it and about Paul Hawken's most recent developments. The earth so needs this kind of attention.

Thank you. Joanna

I signed the petition- thanks for bringing this to my attention- I had never heard of Avaaz.

I just met Paul Hawken at an all-day event- and in his latest book, Blessed Unrest, he said he found that the largest and most unprecedented movement in human history is the social justice/environmental movement, with estimates of one to two *million* organizations worldwide.

He and the folks at the Natural Capital Institute (www.naturalcapital.org) are starting a new project: WISEREarth- it launches in a couple of weeks. From the website:

"People are gathering and organizing around the world to address poverty, climate change, pollution, globalization, resource issues, hunger, and myriad other political, economic, and ecological problems that threaten all of us.

Collectively, this drive for a sustainable and just existence can be called a movement. WiserEarth provides this movement a way to see itself and become connected. "

It's pretty exciting. Thanks again- clutter exists in many realms, eh?
